Shoe Company Vern’s Apologises Over Controversial Logo Design

The management of Bandar Sunway based shoes company, Verns has issued an apology over the shoe logo on its ladies shoes that resemble the word Allah, deemed offensive at any level.

In a a media statement Vern’s Management admitted they had no intention to come up with a logo design aimed at disparaging or insulting any religion or belief.

They explained that the design of the logo was 100% inspired based on the shadow of a lace line connected to a high heel, as depicted in the picture (see below) they attached and posted on their Facebook page.

However, Vern’s did see flaws in the design of the logo that could result in it being misinterpreted thus leading to offending many parties.

The management said they have taken immediate steps to stop selling and be prepared to refund money to customers who have purchased the items.

The issue comes off the back of another controversy involving retail chain KK Mart and stockings the outlet sold which also had the name Allah printed. After a series of heated comments from various political parties, the case has been left to the courts to decide leaving KK Mart CEO to even seek for forgiveness from the King.
