Penang Gaining Traction For Cruise Ships With Three Maiden Calls This Year

Three large cruise ships will be making a maiden call to Penang further positioning the island as a top tourist spot in Southeast Asia.

The inaugural cruise will be from Costa Deliziosa, boasting a capacity of 2,828 passengers, is set to grace Penang’s shores on April 12 from 8am to 1pm, offering visitors a tantalising glimpse into the wonders that await. Following suit is Resilient Lady, accommodating 2,770 passengers, scheduled for April 14, from 9am to 7pm, promising a full day of immersive exploration and delight.

Rounding off this trio is Serenade of the Seas, with a capacity of 2,500 passengers, scheduled to dock on April 26, from 9am to 6pm, providing ample time for travellers to bask in the beauty and cultural richness of Penang.

Penang Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai said that these momentous arrivals mark yet another chapter in Penang’s storied maritime history, beckoning guests to experience firsthand the island’s captivating charm and hospitality.

“Penang continues to be a preferred destination for renowned cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean International, Resort World Cruises, TUI Cruises, Costa Cruises, AIDA Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, Princess Cruises, and Cunard Line.
