Kuka Group Envisions Easy-To-Use Automation For All

KUKA, via its Malaysian business entity, KUKA Robot Automation (M) Sdn Bhd, launched their new Malaysia office on Monday (Apr 8). Established in 1999, KUKA’s new venue will serve as the Group’s regional office for APeC (Asia Pacific excluding China), as well as South East Asia (SEA).

For over 125 years, KUKA’s goal has been to make peoples’ lives and work easier with automation as an international automation group. With an established and diverse intelligent automation portfolio that goes far beyond automation to also include digital services, KUKA now aims to make their technology solutions more intuitive to use, as well as easily accessible to businesses and individuals.

The new office which also serves as KUKA’s centre of excellence (CoE) in the region, is a good showcase of its sustainability initiatives that intersect with innovation and competitiveness. The group’s ecosystem of partners and clients can experience and be hands-on with KUKA’s groundbreaking technologies at this CoE.

The new Malaysia office launch of one of the largest worldwide suppliers of intelligent automation solutions, was graced by the presence of Puchong Member of Parliament Yeo Bee Yin, who officiated the event along with Andy Gu, Vice President of MIDEA Group, Alan Fam, Chief Regional Officer (CRO) of KUKA Ape C, and Erich Schober, Chief Sales Officer (CSO) of KUKA Robotics who came all the way from Germany. They addressed the capacity crowd with keynote speeches that offered a glimpse into the automation-driven future, and the role KUKA plays in its evolution.

Also in attendance were key representatives from MITI, MATRADE, MyRAS and the local automation ecosystem who wished to extend their well wishes to KUKA Group on their new office unveiling.

The launch ceremony was an activity-filled event which included the unveiling of KUKA’s latest robotic solutions like robotic arms, intelligent automation software, collaborative robotics, and IoT-integrated solutions. Business partners and members of the media were treated to live demonstrations of KUKA’s capabilities and cutting-edge technologies. These demonstrations; which were all held at the new premises in Puchong, included various application such as palletizing, welding, machine trending, simple assembly, pick & place, as well as training cells.

Supporting EUR 100 Million Sales Revenue in APeC (estimated RM512.56 million)

KUKA’s regional function with a headcount of over 60, oversees and serves system integration partners, digital marketplaces, and distributors in eight countries – Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, India, South Korea, Japan, and Australia with support, software development, and consultancy. Of these, Malaysia’s (combined with Indonesia) contribution is expected at EUR 8 million (estimated RM41 million) annually.
