HEXTAR Capital Berhad (formerly known as Opcom Holdings Berhad) has announced that it is proposing to diversify its business to include construction and project management services as part of its initiatives to expand its scope to seize new opportunities and broaden its presence in the construction and civil engineering segment.
This will be supported by T&J Engineering Sdn. Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company. Hextar said TJE received a letter of award from Landasan Kapital (M) Sdn. Bhd., a civil engineering construction company, on the appointment of TJE as the sub-contractor for the construction of student hostels for Universiti Malaysia Kelantan in Bachok, Kelantan with a contract value of RM97.0 million. The scope of work includes execution of civil, structural, architectural, and mechanical works.
Acceptance of the letter of award it said was however is subject to approval from the shareholders of HCB for the Proposed
Diversification.
