Selangor Forges Digital Innovation Partnership With Orangeleaf Consulting And Mendix

The Selangor government, through the Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC), has taken a significant step towards advancing digital innovation in the state by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Orangeleaf Consulting and Mendix. This partnership, announced by Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, aims to elevate the state’s digital landscape and nurture a skilled workforce capable of driving technological advancements.

During his visit to the Hannover Messe 2024, one of the world’s largest tradeshows for industrial technology held in Germany, Amirudin highlighted the importance of the collaboration.

The MoU signifies a strategic alliance aimed at leveraging Mendix’s low-code platform, owned by Siemens, to streamline software development processes. By utilising visual drag-and-drop modules, Mendix empowers individuals without coding backgrounds to develop innovative solutions, significantly reducing time to market.

Amirudin emphasised Orangeleaf Consulting’s pivotal role in bridging the talent gap by increasing the number of Malaysian developers proficient in Mendix’s low-code platform. Through various training programs, innovation labs, mentoring initiatives, and community engagement efforts, Orangeleaf Consulting aims to cultivate a robust ecosystem of skilled professionals driving digital transformation initiatives in Selangor.

In a joint statement, STDC, Orangeleaf Consulting, and Mendix affirmed their commitment to fostering technological advancement and nurturing local talent within Selangor’s industries. Amirudin reiterated that the collaboration aligns with the state’s mission to promote technological advancement, reduce the digital divide, and stimulate economic growth.

Acknowledging the importance of partnerships in the digital economy, Amirudin stated the state’s intention to form more collaborations in this rapidly growing space. He emphasized that such partnerships would create better job opportunities for the youth of Selangor, positioning the state as an attractive destination for top talent.

The Menteri Besar also highlighted the state government’s efforts to elevate technical and vocational education through increased funding, aiming to provide a platform for Malaysia’s brightest minds to thrive in Selangor and compete globally.

Amirudin’s participation at the Hannover Messe 2024 forms part of his official visit to Germany, where he witnessed the signing of another MoU between STDC and KNX Association, aimed at establishing Selangor as a hub for professional certification in building automation. This partnership underscores the state’s commitment to fostering collaboration with key industry players to drive innovation and growth.
