Malaysian Woman Wins Global Rising Corporate Secretary Of The Year Award At CSIA Global Governance Awards

Malaysia celebrates a remarkable achievement as Intan Nabilaa Idrus secured the prestigious title of Global Rising Corporate Secretary of the Year at the inaugural Global Governance Awards hosted by the Corporate Secretaries International Association Limited (CSIA) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The CSIA Global Governance Awards, held on April 23, 2024, aimed to honor the exemplary contributions of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals worldwide. Intan Nabilaa Idrus’s recognition underscores Malaysia’s growing influence in the global corporate governance arena.

CSIA President Datuk Suseela Menon emphasised the pivotal role of corporate secretaries in today’s dynamic business landscape, serving as key architects of corporate success by ensuring compliance and fostering transparency and accountability.

Integrating digital technologies into governance practices was highlighted as crucial by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), CEO, Mahadhir Aziz, emphasising the importance of adapting to the digital age for effective governance.

Echoing this sentiment, Platinum Partner Wezmart International Berhad reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing governance across all operations, underscoring the significance of digitalization in enhancing regulatory efficiency and corporate governance practices.

The event also featured a panel discussion titled “Governance Excellence: Lessons from Industry Leaders,” offering attendees insights from distinguished experts to drive governance practices to new heights.

CSIA CEO Zahra Cassim emphasised the event’s significance in promoting good governance practices and restoring public trust in the governance system.
