First Advanced DC Public EV Charging Hub In PJ Launched Jointly By Schneider Electric – JusEv

Schneider Electric launched its new EVlink Pro DC, a 180KW Direct Current (DC) Fast EV Charger and its first public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging hub in Petaling Jaya.

This initiative is in partnership with JusEV, a local charging network operator specialising in electrical vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) for home, public and commercial segments.

Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, and JusEV also entered into an agreement to install over 100 chargers, with 10% being DC fast chargers, in both private and commercial buildings by 2024.

Located at Plaza 33, a certified Green Building with MSC status at the junction of Jalan Kemajuan and Jalan Semangat in Petaling Jaya, the new EV charging hub will be operated by JusEV.

Schneider Electric Country President for Malaysia Eugene Quah said: “With almost 90% of EV charging anticipated in buildings, the launch of our first public EV charging hub, together with our partner JusEV represents a step towards the development of sustainable transportation infrastructure within Petaling Jaya. At Schneider Electric, we are committed to contributing to the decarbonisation efforts of Malaysia’s mobility sector through facilitating the widespread adoption of EVs through accessible and efficient charging solutions.

“We are confident that this strategic endeavour is in alignment with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which aims to establish 10,000 EV charging points nationwide by 2025.”

Schnieder Electric’s EVlink Pro DC, designed for comprehensive protection and enhanced energy efficiency, is ideal for deployment in commercial buildings, fleet depots, and industrial premises. Its seamless integration with Schneider Electric’s energy efficiency solutions ensures that building owners and fleet operators gain better visibility, control, and energy efficiency. The chargers also come with support services from worldwide network of skilled technicians to ensure optimal operation and maintenance of the EV infrastructure. The EVlink Pro DC facilitates an 80% charge completion within 20 minutes.

The General Manager of Plaza 33, Tan Kok Leong, said, “The collaboration between Schneider Electric and JusEV aligns with our commitment to staying ahead of the curve in meeting the evolving needs of our tenants and customers. We recognise the increasing demand for EVs and aim to provide convenient and sustainable solutions that support the transition to cleaner transportation options.”

The EVlink Pro DC features scalable power options ranging from 120kW to 150kW and 180kW, allowing for dynamic simultaneous charging of two vehicles to optimise power usage efficiency. It also integrates with EcoStruxure EV Charging Expert, a load management system to intelligently allocate energy from the building to the EV charging stations in real time. This ensures maximum efficiency while also enhancing uptime and dynamically regulating charger outputs, addressing any concerns about overloading for EV owners.

Compliant with the IEC62443-4-1 ML4 standard, the EVlink Pro DC prioritises the safety, availability, integrity, and confidentiality of components or systems used in industrial automation and control. This standard is essential for both end users and equipment vendors to ensure information security.

The charger is also equipped with built-in future-ready technology, including ISO15118 Plug and Charge and Smart Charging readiness, simplifying upgrades and modernisation efforts as well as ensuring that the infrastructure remains innovative and up to date.

Jason Wong, the Managing Director of JusEV Charging Network said, “As the first approved EVLink Installer for Schneider Electric, we aim to create a more conducive environment for individuals and businesses to transition towards sustainable transportation solutions.”
