Thailand’s Emerging Branded Residences Sector: A New Frontier For Investment

Thailand’s branded residences sector is experiencing unprecedented growth, extending beyond traditional destinations like Phuket to embrace emerging areas across the country. This expansion is presenting investors with enticing opportunities in alternative locales, boasting Thailand’s iconic natural beauty at a fraction of the cost compared to established hotspots.

The sustained success of Thailand’s tourism industry, forecasted to potentially reach 80 million visitors by 2028, is a key driver behind the surge in branded residences. As affluent travelers increasingly seek to transition from vacationing to living in Thailand long-term, developers are exploring new coastal havens to cater to this demand. Phuket, now ranked as the world’s fourth-largest market for branded residences, underscores this trend.

Amid soaring land prices in established tourist hubs, developers are turning their focus to untapped coastal treasures. Banyan Group, recognized as the fifth-largest branded residences operator globally by Savills Research, is spearheading this shift with the launch of Banyan Tree Residences Sichon in Nakhon Si Thammarat province. Set against the backdrop of pristine beaches, this project promises affluent buyers unparalleled natural beauty, superior quality, brand assurance, and exceptional value for their investment.

Urasaya Property, Executive Director, Ravi Chandran noted the potential for significant growth in emerging markets like Sichon. He emphasised the advantages of being an early mover in these areas, poised to reap long-term benefits.

Factors such as the recent expansion of Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport and the growing “work from anywhere” trend are further propelling demand for Sichon. The destination offers international-standard amenities within easy reach, while preserving its innate charm and cultural heritage.

Banyan Group Property Development, Managing Director, Stuart Reading highlighted the strategic importance of destinations like Sichon in Thailand’s overall tourism landscape. He emphasised the role of renowned hospitality brands like Banyan Tree in instilling confidence among buyers and driving the success of branded residences beyond Phuket.

As Phuket’s branded residences sector hits a historic high with a supply value of THB 80 billion, the potential for emerging destinations like Sichon is immense. Stuart Reading emphasized that Thailand’s branded residences sector represents the evolving aspirations of global travelers, who increasingly seek to make Thailand their permanent home, drawn by its allure, connectivity, and value proposition.
