Gig Commission Law To Be Tabled On Youth’s Role In Driving Malaysia’s Direction, Says Anwar

The Gig Commission law related to youth will be completed and be presented in Parliament next July.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, while speaking at the 2024 National Youth Day Celebration at Dataran Pahlawan, Banda Hilir, Melaka, touched on the importance and role of youth in driving the direction of the country now and in the future.

“In order to empower the role of the youth, I announced an additional allocation of RM3 million to the Malaysian Youth Council to implement programmes and manage youth clubs nationwide.”

Not only do the voices of the youth need to be heard, but the requests of those groups need to be implemented taking into account the changes in the world today which are more towards digitisation and modernisation.

Youth programs such as Rakan Muda continue to be given priority while being able to take advantage of the quality and standard of living of this group to remain competitive on the local and international stage.

Later, at the Civil Convention 2024, he said: “Obviously, the trajectory of our success is not measured by mastery of technology and strengthening the economy, but it must also go hand in hand with moral values, courtesy and balance driven by religious conviction.”
