Ringgit Strengthens As U.S. Jobs Data Fuels Rate Cut Expectations

The ringgit opened stronger against the US dollar on Thursday, following recent US jobs data that indicated a slowdown in labor demand, signaling a cooling American economy and boosting expectations for an interest rate cut, according to an analyst.

At 8am, the local currency improved to 4.3380/4.3545 against the greenback, compared to Wednesday’s close of 4.3505/4.3560.
