FBM KLCI Loses 13 Points As Caution Takes Over

The FBM KLCI fell as banking heavyweights dragged the index lower, mirroring a weaker performance in regional markets following the US presidential debate.

Most Asian markets experienced declines after the televised debate between presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, which heightened concerns ahead of the upcoming release of US inflation data.

By the close of the early session, the FBM KLCI had dropped 13.14 points to 1,647.21, with the broader market showing significant losses: 749 decliners compared to just 205 gainers.

All market sectors ended in the red due to widespread selling, with financial services among the hardest hit.
