Bursa Malaysia showed positive movement at midday, propelled by stronger Asian markets and overnight gains on Wall Street.
At the lunch break, the FBM KLCI rose by 4.26 points, or 0.26%, to reach 1,644.06, after hitting an intra-morning high of 1,649.87.
The market breadth was favorable, with gainers outnumbering losers at 532 to 346, while 412 counters remained unchanged. Turnover reached 1.62 billion shares, valued at RM1.34 billion.
Dealers noted that Wall Street’s gains lifted market sentiment as investors analysed the latest U.S. inflation data and its potential impact on the global interest rate outlook.
