The Silk Art Exhibition, ‘The Silk Road’, hosted at the Shoppes at Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur, has concluded its successful 13-day run. Organised by Global Renaissance Collections, the authorised distributor of Shen Yun Collections, the event highlighted exquisite silk masterpieces that celebrated the nearly lost culture and elegance of 5,000 years of ancient Chinese civilisation. Visitors from around the globe were captivated by the seamless fusion of tradition and contemporary innovation, bridging the cultural gap between East and West.
The exhibition featured 30-minute curated sessions exploring the rich history of the Silk Road and the intriguing stories behind each silk artwork. These sessions drew significant crowds, particularly on weekends.
Dato’ Mohd Faizal bin Abd Raman, private secretary to the W.P. Social Media Director of Sekretariat Media Perpaduan, commended the event for its role in promoting Malaysia’s multicultural heritage. He noted how the exhibition showcased Chinese culture within the Malaysian context, enhancing both cultural unity and tourism.
Dato’ Sri CW Gan, Charter President of the Lions Club of United City Kuala Lumpur, was impressed by the vibrant energy of the space. He found the artwork “Manchurian Elegance” particularly captivating, describing it as grand and culturally profound. He highlighted how the energy radiating from these silk art pieces offers profound benefits to people from all walks of life, transcending race, religion, and belief.
Amelia Mariadass, a finalist in Ms Tradisi Malaysia 2024, commented on the depiction of women’s roles in society as portrayed in the silk artworks, praising the depth and elegance of each piece.
The exhibition attracted international visitors from countries such as Kazakhstan, Morocco, Turkey, Lithuania, Belgium, Spain, India, the U.S., and Hong Kong, underscoring the global appeal of silk art.
The event was proudly supported by venue sponsor Shoppes at Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur, bronze sponsor Qualitea Café & Restaurant Mount Austin, and special sponsor SHS Construction Works. Global Renaissance Collections extends its heartfelt thanks to all sponsors, participants, and the Shen Yun Collections team for their contribution to the event’s success.
