Automated HR Compliance To Promote Flexibility And Workforce Motivation

As Southeast Asia continues to grow rapidly, the automated workforce compliance through a comprehensive Human Resources (HR) management solutions package has become a pressing need in the midst of digitalisation waves in personnel management, according to BrioHR.

Automated digital tools have been introduced to help business firms to improve their HR operation, ensuring that rules and regulations are adhered to in creating a more flexible and motivated workforce. “This isn’t just about ticking regulatory boxes—it’s about creating workplaces where talent thrives,” said Georg Chmiel, BrioHR Senior Advisor.

According to Chmiel, HR innovation will be crucial to long-term HR success as it fosters the base for a smarter, stronger workforce, unleashing the full potential of the global south.

Malaysia as an emerging commercial centre in the region has invested heavily in digital advancement and skilled labour training, backed by the country’s economic resilience in 2024.

The Malaysian government’s push for enhanced payroll system, which includes mandatory and direct Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contribution, under the framework of Budget 2025 marks a turning point for HR management, said Chmiel, adding that, “With an urbanisation rate of over 78%, Malaysia is uniquely positioned to lead Southeast Asia’s HR revolution.”

“Malaysia’s digital-first approach and focus on empowering SMEs make it the ideal launchpad for HR technology innovation,” Chmiel stated.

Southeast Asia’s digital economy is projected to reach US$1 trillion (~RM4.5 trillion) by 2030. And the region is home to 6.5 million Small and Medium Enterprises (SME).
