Bursa Indices F4GBM & F4GBMS Add New PLCs

Bursa Malaysia Bhd today announced 28 inclusions to the constituents of the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia (F4GBM) Index and 22 inclusions to the constituents of the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Shariah (F4GBMS) Index.

The F4GBM Index measures the performance of public listed companies (PLC) with good liquidity and strong Environmental stewardship, Social responsibility and Governance excellence (ESG). The F4GBM Index constituents, on the other hand, are drawn from PLCs within the FTSE Bursa Malaysia EMAS Index, comprising eligible PLCs from small, medium and large market capitalisation segments.

Separately, the F4GBMS Index tracks the constituents in the F4GBM that are Shariah-compliant, in accordance with the Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) screening criteria.

Both indices are reviewed semi-annually in June and December, against established, globally-recognised criteria used by FTSE Russell.

For the December 2024 review period, there are 28 inclusions and 1 exclusion from the F4GBM Index, bringing its total number of constituents to 147. Meanwhile, the F4GBMS Index will see 22 inclusions and 2 exclusions, bringing the index’s constituent count to 115.

This most recent review represents the highest number of inclusions since the indices were launched in 2014 and 2021, respectively. The increase reflects the progress of Malaysian public listed companies in enhancing their ESG disclosure and practices, which is supported by Bursa Malaysia and FTSE Russell’s outreach programmes and educative initiatives.

In addition, Bursa Malaysia continues to collaborate with ecosystem players, such as financial institutions and institutional investors, to further incentivise public listed companies to advance their respective ESG journeys.

All constituent changes will take effect at the start of business on 23 December 2024 (Monday).

The 28 newly included publicly listed companies in the F4GBM index are AEON Credit Service (M), Affin Bank, AirAsia X, Ann Joo Resources, Comfort Glove, Cypark Resources, Eastern & Oriental, Evergreen Fibreboard, IGB REIT, IHH Healthcare, IJM, IOI Properties Group, Land & General, Magnum, Malayan Flour Mills, Mega First, Optimax Holdings, Paramount Corp, Pavilion REIT, Perak Transit, QES Group, Sime Darby Property, Skyworld Development, Sunway Construction Group, Swift Haulage, Thong Guan Industries, and TSH Resources.

The 22 newly added publicly listed companies to the shariah-compliant F4GBMS index are AirAsia X, Ann Joo Resources, Bumi Armada, Comfort Glove, Cypark Resources, Eastern & Oriental, Evergreen Fibreboard, IHH Healthcare, IJM, Land & General, Malayan Flour Mills, Mega First, Optimax Holdings, Paramount Corp, Perak Transit, QES Group, Sime Darby Property, Skyworld Development, Sunway Construction Group, Swift Haulage, Thong Guan Industries, and TSH Resources.
