Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra witnessed the exchange of key memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between the two countries. The agreements cover important areas such as culture, arts, and heritage, as well as economic cooperation, with a specific focus on the rubber trade. This collaboration marks a significant step in enhancing bilateral relations, promoting shared cultural values, and deepening trade ties.
The rubber trade agreement is expected to strengthen economic ties, further solidifying the longstanding relationship between Malaysia and Thailand.
In addition, Prime Minister Paetongtarn expressed Thailand’s strong support for Malaysia’s role as the ASEAN Chair in 2025. This endorsement highlights the close diplomatic and strategic partnership between the two nations, paving the way for fruitful collaboration under Malaysia’s leadership in the regional bloc.
