1337 Ventures Backs Arus Oil In Sustainability Movement

1337 Ventures has reinforced its dedication to fostering innovation and sustainability in Malaysia by investing in Arus Oil, a startup transforming waste into renewable energy. This investment, made through the 1337 Accelerator Fund I, aligns with its mission to support early-stage startups driving sustainability and innovation in Malaysia.

Founded by Syazwan Majid in 2017, Arus Oil began as a community recycling initiative before pivoting to focus on UCO recycling. The company has collected over 2 million kilograms of UCO, converting it into biodiesel to reduce improper disposal and contribute to renewable energy solutions.

With support from 1337 Ventures, Arus Oil has built key partnerships and secured more than 20 corporate clients, expanding its reach in B2C and reseller markets. The partnership has also enabled innovations like a mobile collection system and a TNG eWallet collaboration, which incentivizes recycling by offering direct payments to users. This initiative has boosted community participation in sustainability efforts.

Led by CEO Bikesh Lakhmichand, 1337 Ventures emphasizes the importance of supporting startups that combine environmental impact with scalable business models. The firm’s Accelerator Fund I continues to bridge the seed funding gap in Malaysia by targeting high-potential startups like Arus Oil.
