Sapura Industrial Bhd (SIB), Malaysia’s leading automotive component manufacturer, has signed a Technical Assistance Agreement (TAA) with Mubea Fahrwerksfedern GmbH, a global leader in high-strength, lightweight automotive components, to enhance SIB’s technical capabilities in the design, development, and production of hollow stabiliser bars and high-stress coil springs.
The five-year partnership is expected to solidify SIB’s position as Malaysia’s sole manufacturer of stabiliser bars and the country’s leading producer of coil springs.
In a statement, SIB said by adding hollow stabiliser bars to its product portfolio, it strengthens its position as Malaysia’s sole manufacturer of these critical components.
At the same time, SIB is expanding its coil spring production, creating new regional opportunities and reinforcing its leadership as Malaysia’s largest producer of coil springs.
“The partnership gives us access to top-tier engineering expertise, helping us improve our products for car manufacturers.
“By enhancing our manufacturing capabilities, we are driving SIB’s growth while supporting the long-term development of Malaysia’s automotive industry,” SIB Head of Manufacturing Business Mohd Fahmi Md Isa said.
Mohd Fahmi revealed that the partnership between SIB and Mubea will be led by SIB’s wholly owned subsidiary, Sapura Automotive Industries Sdn Bhd, to ensure a seamless integration of technical expertise to better serve and drive long-term value for the automotive industry.
