CIMB Group Holdings Berhad has announced a new Chief Executive Officer, Wut Thanittiraporn taking effect on 21 April 2025 following the completion of Paul Wong Chee Kin’s 4-year secondment to Thailand.
Wut has been with CIMB Thai for more than 11 years. He joined the bank in February 2014 as Head of Investment Banking; subsequently in 2017, he was appointed to Head of Corporate Banking and by September 2019, he also assumed leadership of the Transaction Banking portfolio, as part of CIMB Thai’s broader leadership and talent development efforts.
Under his stewardship, the Corporate and Transaction Banking division has undergone a highly successful transformation and turnaround, positioning the bank as the preferred partner in Thailand for intraASEAN transactions. A seasoned banker, Wut’s experience includes serving as Executive Vice President, Head of Capital Markets in Standard Chartered Bank Thailand prior to joining CIMB Thai.
