Bursa Malaysia Ends Lower, FBM KLCI Slips 0.40%

Bursa Malaysia closed lower on Tuesday as investors took profit following recent gains, with the benchmark FBM KLCI slipping 6.03 points or 0.40% to end at 1,515.56.

The index moved between a high of 1,524.50 and a low of 1,515.56 throughout the day, reflecting cautious sentiment amid mixed regional cues.

Broader market performance was mixed. The FBM 70 advanced 29.64 points or 0.19% to close at 15,904.98, while the FBM Emas Index slipped 26.40 points to 11,274.41. The FBM Shariah Index also fell by 30.59 points to 11,117.73, and the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Index eased 2.62 points to 908.34.

On the active stocks list, Velesto Energy led the volume chart with 796.3 million shares traded, slipping 0.5 sen to 15 sen. Nextgreen Global dropped 3 sen to 34 sen with 494.1 million shares transacted, while Notion Vtec declined 2.5 sen to 67 sen on volume of 363.9 million shares.

Meanwhile, Careplus Group gained 2 sen to 23 sen with 294 million shares traded, standing out as one of the few gainers among active counters.

Market sentiment was cautious, influenced by ongoing concerns over regional growth outlooks and a lack of fresh catalysts.
