Home Minister’s WhatsApp Account Compromised, Advises Public To Be Alert

The office of the Home Ministry has confirmed that the WhatsApp account of Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail was compromised by unauthorised individuals on Monday, May 26th. This incident has raised concerns about potential misuse of the Minister’s communication channels.

In an official statement, the Home Ministry disclosed that the matter has been reported to the relevant authorities, who are now conducting an investigation into the hacking. The Ministry emphasised the importance of public vigilance, urging individuals to exercise extreme caution when receiving any messages or calls that appear to originate from the Minister’s WhatsApp number.

The home ministry is urging the public to take these precautions:

  • Be wary of unsolicited messages: Do not trust messages from the ministers number, that request personal information, or financial transactions.
  • Verify information: If you receive a suspicious message, try to verify the information through official channels.
  • Report suspicious activity: If you encounter any suspicious activity, report it to the authorities immediately.
