Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Berhad has announced that its Chairman, Dato Mohammed Haji Che Hussein, an independent Non-Executive Director, will be retiring as Chairman of the group effective 31 May 2025.
Dato’ Mohammed Hussein is also the independent non-executive chairman of Gamuda Berhad, an independent non-executive director of Tasek Corporation Berhad, Bank of America Malaysia Berhad and CapitaLand Malaysia Mall REIT Management Sdn Bhd which manages CapitaLand Malaysia Mall Trust, a real estate investment trust listed on Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
In addition, he is a member of Corporate Debt Restructuring Committee (CDRC) sponsored by Bank Negara to facilitate the resolution and restructuring of major corporate debts and a Fellow of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers.
During his 31-year career in the Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank) Group, Dato’ Mohammed Hussein held various senior management positions including Head of Corporate Banking, Head of Commercial Banking, Head of Malaysian Operations, Managing Director of Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad (currently known as Maybank Investment Bank Berhad) and Executive Director (Business Group). The last position held prior to his retirement on 30 January 2008 was Deputy President/Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer of Maybank Group.
