CARE Latex Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s leading condom brand, has entered a strategic partnership with Kossan Holdings (M) Sdn Bhd, the investment arm of one of the world’s largest manufacturers of gloves and rubber products. This partnership makes Kossan Holdings the third-largest investor in CARE Latex, supporting the brand’s long-term growth ambitions in the global sexual wellness market.
The company’s rapid expansion is evident in its revenue rising by 1,399% and unit sales increasing by 1,615% from 2018 to 2024, positioning CARE Latex as a regional leader and emerging global player. This collaboration is a significant step in CARE Latex’s pre-IPO journey, aiming to accelerate product innovation, improve inventory management, expand research and development (R&D) capabilities, and extend market reach through new distribution channels.
CARE Latex is also committed to addressing public health challenges, especially HIV prevention among Southeast Asian youth. UNAIDS 2023 data highlights that one in four new HIV cases in the region involves people aged 15 to 24, with 93% linked to unprotected sex.
Malaysia’s Ministry of Health Global AIDS Monitoring Report 2024 reveals that 32% of new HIV infections occur in this group, while condom usage remains below 40%. CARE Latex plans to increase access to trusted protection products by leveraging advanced manufacturing and supply chain capabilities.
Founder Bonn Lam Chee Fong said, “Welcoming Kossan Holdings as a strategic investor enhances our capacity to scale production, drive innovation, and deliver our mission.”
He noted the brand’s focus on using Malaysia’s position as the sixth-largest natural latex producer to develop innovations like Malaysia’s first Microbial Barrier condom, designed with antimicrobial and antioxidant properties for enhanced protection.
Lim Seow Chair, representing Kossan Holdings, expressed pride in supporting CARE Latex, citing shared values of integrity, innovation, and sustainable impact. CARE Latex is the only Malaysian condom brand with retail presence in Singapore and South Korea, available in major convenience store chains such as Olive Young and GS25. Plans are underway to expand into Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, New Zealand, and the United States.
The company also intends to broaden its product range with new lines including clinical and personal lubricants, pregnancy and HIV test kits, pleasure devices, and wellness supplements as part of its continued growth strategy.
