Petronas Secures 20-Year LNG Supply Deal With Venture Global

Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), through its subsidiary Petronas LNG Ltd, has signed a 20-year sale and purchase agreement with US-based Venture Global LNG for the annual supply of one million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The LNG will be sourced from CP2 LNG Phase 1, Venture Global’s upcoming 14.4 MTPA facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

This long-term agreement underscores Petronas’ commitment to meeting global energy demand with a stable and flexible LNG supply, while reinforcing its position as a key player in the evolving international energy market.

“This collaboration allows us to respond with greater agility to dynamic market conditions while ensuring long-term value for our customers,” Petronas LNG Marketing and Trading Vice President Shamsairi M Ibrahim said.

He added that the deal also provides Petronas with increased access to LNG from the US Gulf Coast, enhancing its ability to deliver to diverse markets across Asia, Europe and beyond.

“It also reflects a growing trend of strategic alliances aimed at improving supply resilience in the face of geopolitical and market volatility,” he noted.
