The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) has assured the public that highway quality and safety will not be compromised despite the government’s decision to freeze toll rate increases on 10 highways this year.
In a media statement, LLM said it fully supports the announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the Works Minister, noting that the move aligns with the Madani government’s commitment to easing the cost of living.
“The toll freeze is expected to benefit more than 941,000 daily highway users, providing immediate financial relief without sacrificing service standards.
“Highways remain vital infrastructure, serving as key connectors for both daily commutes and seasonal travel. The government’s decision reflects a deep concern for the public’s welfare,” LLM said.
LLM emphasised that while toll rates remain unchanged, comprehensive highway maintenance and enhancements will continue, including quality rest and service areas, intelligent traffic systems and swift incident response mechanisms to ensure a safe, smooth and efficient travel experience.
“LLM will continue to monitor all concessionaires to ensure they meet their obligations and uphold the highest standards of safety and maintenance,” it said, adding that it remains committed to delivering high-quality, safe and efficient highway services.
