Malaysia has achieved 82.4% 5G coverage across populated areas, a significant leap from just 4% in 2021, according to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
In a social media post today, MCMC attributed the progress to the government’s continued efforts under the Malaysia MADANI framework to bridge the digital divide nationwide.
“Inilah komitmen #MalaysiaMADANI untuk merapatkan jurang digital; dari bandar ke desa semua turut serta dalam ekonomi digital,” it said.
The agency reaffirmed that the nationwide rollout aims to ensure all Malaysians, regardless of location, are able to participate in the digital economy.
