Zetrix AI Berhad (formerly MY E.G. Services Berhad) has issued a clarification following BusinessToday’s news reports linking the company’s blockchain operations and MyDigital ID initiative to projected revenue gains.
The company stated that the service highlighted in the article refers to the verification of various Digital IDs offered through the Malaysia Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI), a strategic collaboration between Zetrix and MIMOS Berhad. MBI, which uses the Zetrix blockchain as its core chain, aims to drive Malaysia’s digital transformation by providing a neutral, trusted, and unified blockchain framework.
As part of this initiative, Zetrix and MyDigital ID Solutions Sdn Bhd — a wholly owned subsidiary of MIMOS — announced a collaboration on 24 January 2025 to offer MyDigital ID-related services.
The company clarified that the rate of RM0.40 mentioned in media reports refers to the government-approved charge per user per annum, billed to service providers wishing to undertake verification services on MBI. The RM100 figure cited for travellers represents Zetrix’s target average revenue per user from ancillary and commercial services, based on past experience with similar offerings. However, the company emphasised that actual revenue and profit will depend on transaction volumes.
Zetrix confirmed that its blockchain business is already revenue-generating, with increasing activity from multiple use cases contributing to growth.
The company pledged to provide timely updates on any material developments involving its blockchain products and services, including MyDigital ID.
