KLK Group has announced that BYD Company Limited (BYD) will establish its first automotive assembling plant in Malaysia at KLK TechPark, Tanjong Malim, Perak.
Leveraging the Muallim Speed-Lane (M-SL): Fast-Track Construction Project, introduced in 2023 as an initiative to make the Muallim district a significant player in the international automotive sector, this investment from BYD was secured within a record of three months.
As the anchor tenant of the development’s first phase, BYD will take up 150 acres, with subsequent phases designed to attract vendors and businesses that can contribute to a complete and competitive automotive ecosystem.
Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Lee Oi Hian, Executive Chairman of Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad said, “KLK TechPark is a long-term development made possible through close collaboration with the Perak State Government.
