Malaysia has secured another high-impact foreign investment, with China’s Rianlon Corporation set to establish a manufacturing facility and research and development centre at the Tanjung Langsat Industrial Complex in Johor.
Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said the project will generate more than 300 skilled jobs while strengthening the nation’s specialty chemicals ecosystem.
“This investment will not only create employment opportunities, but also introduce advanced technology that supports the objectives of the New Industrial Master Plan 2030,” he said on X on Sept 1.
Tengku Zafrul added that the move positions Malaysia further up the value chain in specialty chemicals, a sector seen as critical to industrial upgrading.
“MITI welcomes Rianlon’s investment and is ready to be a partner in innovation and industrial growth,” he said.
Rianlon, a leading global player in polymer additives and specialty chemicals, is expected to bring both technological know-how and international linkages to Malaysia’s industrial base.
