Hextar, Inspur Join Forces On Sustainable Tech In Farming, Buildings

Hextar Group has announced that its listed arms, Hextar Global Bhd (HGB) and Hextar Industries Bhd (HIB), have signed separate Letters of Intent (LOIs) with Inspur Enterprise Cloud Technology (IEC), one of China’s leading cloud service providers, to accelerate sustainable digital solutions in agriculture and green building sectors.

Under the agreement, Hextar R&D International, a subsidiary of HGB, will work with IEC to develop a smart agriculture platform, beginning with the durian industry. The artificial intelligence (AI)-driven platform will focus on pest control and plant disease management, with plans to expand to other crops such as oil palm and fruits.

“Through our partnership with IEC, we are combining deep market knowledge with cutting-edge AI capabilities to address one of the most critical challenges in agriculture, pest and disease management.

“This initiative has the potential to help farmers improve productivity and sustainability across multiple crop sectors,” HGB Group Managing Director Lee Chooi Keng said.

Meanwhile, TK Rental, a subsidiary of HIB, will collaborate with IEC on the Green Building Intelligent Control Cloud Solution, an AI-based platform to optimise energy use and enhance efficiency across sectors including malls, hospitals, transport infrastructure and office buildings.

“Our partnership with IEC reinforces Hextar’s leadership in shaping smarter energy management solutions that support Malaysia’s sustainability agenda,” HIB Group Managing Director Benny Ang said.

Commenting on the partnerships, Datuk Eddie Ong, major shareholder of both HGB and HIB, said the collaborations reflect Hextar’s commitment to embedding sustainability into its corporate strategy.

“By embedding sustainability principles into our corporate actions, we are committed to delivering integrated technologies for farmers and businesses, accelerating digitalisation and driving long-term value for all stakeholders,” he said.
