CIMB Launches New Cross-Border Business Platform For SMEs

CIMB Group Holdings Bhd has launched CIMB OCTO Biz, a new cross-border digital business platform aimed at empowering small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with smarter onboarding, real-time insights and seamless regional connectivity across ASEAN.

CIMB Group Chief Executive Officer Novan Amirudin said the platform, launched during the CIMB ASEAN SME Economic Forum, underscores CIMB’s commitment to supporting businesses through technology and innovation.

“CIMB OCTO Biz delivers secure, seamless and future-ready financial solutions that enable businesses to scale sustainably across ASEAN. It reflects our Forward30 strategy, leveraging digital innovation to create long-term value for customers and society,” he said.

He added that the platform also integrates banking services with key management tools, enabling SMEs to handle cross-border payments, access treasury and trade solutions, and monitor cash flow in real time.

“Powered by artificial intelligence and data analytics, the app provides hyper-personalised recommendations and pre-qualified financing through SME FlexiCash/-i, removing the need for traditional loan applications,” Novan shared.

Meanwhile, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Group Commercial and Transaction Banking Lawrence Loh said the platform positions CIMB as a leading digital-first SME bank in the region.

“CIMB OCTO Biz goes beyond transactions by helping businesses manage operations, access financing and make smarter, data-driven decisions,” he said.

Loh shared that since its soft launch, over half of CIMB’s SME clients have joined the platform, recording RM17 billion in transaction value across seven million transactions in 2025.

“We will expand the platform to Indonesia and Singapore by mid-2026, followed by Cambodia and other ASEAN markets,” he said.
