SDP Awards RM1.26 Billion Data Centre Construction Contract To IJM

Sime Darby Property Berhad announced that it has awarded a RM1.26 billion contract to IJM
Construction for the main building works of a hyperscale data centre at Elmina Business Park.

The contract, awarded through the Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary Sime Darby Property
(EBP Asset II) Sdn. Bhd. (“SDPEBP II”), covers the construction, completion, testing, and
commissioning of the facility’s core and shell, along with related infrastructure works.

The contract award marks the main construction phase for the hyperscale data centre, which Sime Darby Property previously secured through a long-term build-and-lease agreement announced in December 2024 with Pearl Computing Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raiden APAC Pte. Ltd. Construction is scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025, with completion targeted for the second quarter of 2027.

SDP said the contract was awarded following a competitive tender process.

Dato’ Seri Azmir Merican, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Property, said the partnership highlights the Group’s commitment to delivering world-class assets through trusted collaborations. “This contract award marks another milestone in our journey to build Malaysia’s next generation of digital infrastructure. We are building a high- tech, mission-critical asset that will serve the demands of the global digital economy. We are pleased to partner with IJM Construction, a company with a proven track record in delivering complex, large-scale projects, to execute the construction of this state-of-the-art facility.”
