Over 250 SMEs Gain Insights On Digital And AI Transformation At SME Corp Seminar

More than 250 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from various sectors took part in the Seminar Peningkatan Skala Digital untuk PKS today, aimed at accelerating digital adoption and strengthening business competitiveness through technology.

Themed “Tech Up, Scale Up! Elevate Your SME Journey through AI, Digital Transformation and Smart Solutions”, the event was organised by SME Corp Malaysia under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), with strategic support from the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Malaysia (SAMENTA).

The seminar focused on the use of artificial intelligence (AI), automation and smart manufacturing to help SMEs improve efficiency and embrace innovation-driven growth. Twenty digital and technology providers also participated to showcase practical tools and solutions for business digitalisation.

KUSKOP Secretary-General Dato’ Sri Khairul Dzaimee Daud, who officiated the event, said, “KUSKOP through its agencies such as SME Corp Malaysia will ensure that digitalisation and technology elements are embedded in various programmes and initiatives during the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13). This is in line with the National Entrepreneurship Policy 2030 aspiration to create a holistic and comprehensive entrepreneurial ecosystem.”

SME Corp Chief Executive Officer Rizal Dato’ Nainy added that the agency’s focus under RMK13 would be on scaling local SMEs to become innovation-driven and globally competitive. “Our efforts are geared towards creating local business entities with high creativity and added value capable of competing in domestic and global markets,” he said.

The Kuala Lumpur event marked the first of a nationwide seminar series for 2025, with the next session scheduled in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on November 17. The initiative forms part of SME Corp and KUSKOP’s broader effort to support SME digital transformation and Malaysia’s ambition to become an AI-driven nation by 2030.
