BUDI95 Progress, ASEAN Chairmanship Among Key Focus In Dewan Rakyat

The Dewan Rakyat today is set to discuss the progress of the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) targeted fuel subsidy programme and Malaysia’s achievements as the 2025 ASEAN Chair.

According to the Order Paper published on Parliament’s website, Member of Parliament for Bukit Bendera Syerleena Abdul Rashid will question the Prime Minister on the first month’s progress of the BUDI95 initiative during the Ministers’ Question Time. She is also expected to seek clarification on measures taken to address eligibility issues affecting groups such as airport taxi drivers, e-hailing drivers and river boat operators.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Kubang Pasu Datuk Dr Ku Abd Rahman Ku Ismail will raise questions on Malaysia’s accomplishments and benefits as ASEAN Chair, as well as the outcomes of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in South Korea attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Additionally, Member of Parliament for Subang Wong Chen is scheduled to ask whether the Foreign Ministry intends to convene a meeting with other ASEAN countries to discuss fundraising efforts for Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Following the question-and-answer session, the Dewan Rakyat will proceed with the winding-up debate on the Supply Bill (Budget) 2026 at the policy stage by the respective ministries.

The Third Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 15th Parliament will continue for 35 days until Dec 4.
