Hume Cement Industries Berhad has announced the appointment of William Tan Kok Siang as its new Group Managing Director, effective 1 January 2026.
William Tan, 38, is an executive director and a Malaysian national. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Material Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
William Tan began his professional journey as a Management Trainee with Lafarge Malayan Cement Berhad, now known as Malayan Cement Berhad, where he gained broad exposure across sales, operations, supply chain and marketing.
In 2012, he joined Hume Cement Sdn Bhd (HCMT), where he progressively assumed larger leadership responsibilities spanning Marketing, Sales, Logistics, Export and Plant Operations.. He was appointed General Manager – Sales & Logistics in 2019 and later took on expanded oversight of the Sales, Marketing, Logistics and Packing Plant divisions.
Later in 2023, he was appointed Managing Director of HCMT.
William Tan has a direct interest of 271,533 ordinary shares in Hume Cement Industries Berhad, with an additional 1,832,467 shares to be received from the vesting of share grants. He also holds an indirect interest of 382,500 shares in the company
