The Human Resources Ministry (MOHR) has launched the VETRI MADANI Skills Programme 2026, aimed at equipping Malaysian Indians with future-ready skills and improving job opportunities in high-growth sectors.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan highlighted that the initiative aligns with the policy focus of the 13th Malaysia Plan and supports the government’s broader talent development goals.
“Vetri means victory, which signifies MOHR’s commitment to provide Malaysian Indians with the right opportunities to rise and build a better future through skills development and job placement,” Ramanan said, calling the programme symbolic of a successful harvest season.
Backed by a RM10 million allocation from HRD Corp, the programme targets 2,000 participants nationwide through structured training designed to enhance employability, support professional upskilling and enable upward mobility.
Training will focus on strategic industries such as artificial intelligence, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Cloud & Data Analytics, Automation, Robotics, Industry 4.0 and Semiconductor Engineering, among others. Participants will gain recognised certifications aligned with industry needs.
To ensure transparency and nationwide reach, the programme will be administered fully online, with physical or hybrid training delivered through State Skills Development Centres and HRD Corp-registered providers.
