KPJ Withdraws Suit Against Seven Defendants, Proceeds With Four

KPJ Healthcare Bhd and its subsidiary Kumpulan Perubatan (Johor) Sdn Bhd have withdrawn legal proceedings against seven of the 11 defendants named in a suit filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.

The hospital group said the plaintiffs filed a Notice of Discontinuance on Sept 14, 2026, dated Sept 11, to wholly discontinue the suit against the fourth to tenth defendants, with costs.

The seven defendants are Tan Sri Datin Paduka Siti Sa’diah Sh Bakir, Datuk Azzat Kamaludin, Zainah Mustafa, Zulkifli Ibrahim, Dr Kok Chin Leong, Dato’ Dr Zaki Morad Mohamad Zaher and Mohd Sahir Rahmat.

The notice was recorded before the judge during case management on Sept 14.

The legal proceedings will continue against the remaining four defendants, namely Dato’ Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim, Dato’ Amiruddin Abdul Satar, Aminudin Dawam and Jasimah Hassan.

The case is related to a RM95.77 million civil lawsuit in January 2024 against 11 former directors over the 2018 sale of a 49% stake in its pathology unit, Lablink (M) Sdn Bhd. It was alleged that there were Breach of fiduciary/statutory duties and negligence regarding the valuation and transaction
