Pos Malaysia Bhd is entering a new era of smart logistics with the launch of Zelos, Malaysia’s first fully autonomous, zero-emission logistics vehicle, as part of its digital innovation and sustainability drive.
The unveiling, officiated by Communications Minister Dato’ Fahmi Fadzil, included a collaborative agreement between Pos Malaysia, represented by Group CEO Charles Brewer and Autonomous Logistic Solutions Sdn Bhd (ALS), represented by Managing Director Alan Chong.
The partnership aims to operationalise Level 4 autonomous logistics for high-volume, point-to-point deliveries.
Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar, Chairman of Pos Malaysia, said, “Zelos represents a pivotal milestone in our transformation into a modern, innovative, and sustainable logistics provider. This technology optimises delivery routes, reduces fuel consumption, and minimises wastage.”
Charles Brewer added, “We are not just launching an autonomous vehicle, we are launching Malaysia into a new era of logistics. This is the first mile of a long and exciting journey for Pos Malaysia.”
Alan Chong highlighted that the initiative moves autonomous logistics beyond trials into live operations, integrating seamlessly into existing post and parcel workflows, and setting a national precedent for industrial adoption of autonomous vehicles.
The project is powered by 5G connectivity from Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), with CEO Datuk Azman Ismail noting, “Ultra-reliable, high-performance 5G is essential to enabling advanced autonomous use cases and supporting Malaysia’s AI Nation plans.”
The six-month Proof of Concept (PoC) will take place within Pos Malaysia’s operational environment, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, JPJ and Futurise, to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory frameworks.
Zelos adds to Pos Malaysia’s leadership in sustainable mobility, complementing its existing fleet of more than 1,500 electric vehicles, of which 25% are fully electric.
This marks a major step toward a smarter, greener, and future-ready logistics ecosystem for Malaysia.
