Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Appoints Martin Schulz As New President And CEO

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has announced the appointment of Martin Schulz as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective Feb 1, 2026.

Schulz will also take on the role of Head of the newly integrated Mercedes-Benz Cars Southeast Asia Region, overseeing operations in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

He succeeds Amanda Zhang, who will remain on the Board of Directors and continue to support the company as senior advisor.

Zhang concludes more than two decades with Mercedes-Benz, during which she led major initiatives across Malaysia and Singapore. Her tenure saw the rollout of Southeast Asia’s first Retail of the Future Agency Model, the launch of the Stars@Mercedes-Benz Bangsar flagship retail outlet, expansion of the company’s electric vehicle charging ecosystem through strategic partnerships and a broader product offering to meet diverse luxury customer needs. She also strengthened the regional go-to-market strategy and delivered profitable growth in Singapore.

As for Schulz, he has been with Mercedes-Benz since 1999 and brings extensive international experience. His previous experience includes the CEO in the United Arab Emirates and Romania and senior management roles across Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand and Korea. Most recently, he was based in Stuttgart, Germany, in sales and marketing roles at the company’s headquarters.

The leadership transition reflects Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s focus on ensuring continuity while strengthening its regional operations in Southeast Asia.
