Indonesian President Meets US Business Delegates Ahead Of Signing ART Deal

President Prabowo Subianto is in the USA meeting with the United States Chamber of Commerce (USCC), the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), and the US-Indonesia Society (USINDO) as part of this agenda before signing the reciprocal tariff deal with the largest economy in the world.

A statement by the Indonesian government said the meeting was held ahead of the signing ceremony for the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) with US President Donald Trump.

President Prabowo, together with key members of his cabinet Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Investment and Downstream Development Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, CIO of Danantara Pandu Sjahrir, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Indonesian Ambassador to the United States Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo are set to conclude the most important deal for the nation.

The members stated that the gathering would allow business communities from both nations to capitalize on the reciprocal agreement to be signed by President Prabowo and President Trump.

Trade between the two countries is strong, already at US$45 billion. The goal is to create a more balanced trade. This will provide many opportunities for Indonesian exporters, especially in the footwear, textile, garment, and electronics sectors, as well as for American entrepreneurs in the cotton, wheat, and soybean sectors.

President Prabowo and President Trump are scheduled to sign the reciprocal agreement, which includes provisions on tariffs, during their bilateral meeting in Washington, D.C.
