MRANTI Strengthens Governance, Ensuring Public Funds Drive National Innovation

The Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (MRANTI) has achieved the MS ISO 37001:2025 Anti-Bribery Management Systems (ABMS) certification, an internationally recognised standard for preventing, detecting and addressing bribery risks.

The milestone underscores MRANTI’s commitment to ethical governance, transparency and accountability in managing public funds.

The certification covers key organisational functions including finance, strategic procurement, human resources and communications, ensuring that initiatives like the National Technology and Innovation Sandbox (NTIS) channel public funds directly into high-value Malaysian technology projects and job creation.

During MRANTI Integrity Day 2026, more than 120 employees recited the Corruption-Free Pledge (Ikrar Bebas Rasuah, IBR), led by Chief Executive Officer Ashran Dato’ Ghazi and witnessed by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Kuala Lumpur Director Mohamad Zakkuan Talib, who formally endorsed the pledge.

MRANTI Chairman Prof Dr Rofina Yasmin Othman said, “As the Board, we take full and collective accountability for the integrity of MRANTI as an institution. Integrity is not confined to policies, certifications, or compliance frameworks. It defines how we govern, how we make decisions, how we exercise authority and how we discharge our responsibilities to stakeholders and the public.”

Mohamad Zakkuan highlighted that strong governance and integrity practices are vital for building public and investor confidence, particularly in innovation ecosystems managing strategic investments and high-impact research.

MRANTI’s ISO 37001 certification provides stakeholders assurance that its projects and partnerships are guided by transparency, fairness and accountability, reinforcing the agency’s role in delivering national innovation initiatives and supporting Malaysia’s strategic technology development.
