A new way to see Langkawi has arrived — and it’s by private yacht. The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi has launched Dayang Mastura, a Lagoon 620 sailing catamaran offering tailored charters across the Andaman Sea.
For travellers who prefer their island hopping with space, privacy and a crew on hand, this is the resort’s most ambitious experience yet.
Departing from Telaga Harbour Park, just five minutes from the resort, each journey is fully private. A captain and crew handle the route while guests settle in and set the pace.
Sail along the Machinchang Coast, pass through the Straits of Chinchin and cruise towards islands including Pulau Rebak Besar and Pulau Intan Kecil. Expect clear water, quiet coves and reefs where parrotfish and damselfish are regular sightings.
The yacht accommodates up to 20 guests and is designed for day-long gatherings or overnight stays. Interiors by Nauta Design maintain a clean and contemporary aesthetic.
There are generous dining areas, shaded lounges and open decks for sunbathing, plus four ensuite cabins. Paddleboards, kayaks, snorkelling gear and fishing equipment are all onboard if you want more than just the view.
Food is a key part of the experience. Once at anchor, with the Machinchang mountains as a backdrop, guests are served a picnic prepared by the resort’s private chef. Menus highlight local flavours, from Kuih Rotan and Kerabu Kale to Kuih Lapis and seasonal fruit, alongside freshly prepared canapés.
Sunset charters bring a shift in pace. As the light softens, the yacht cruises along quieter stretches of coastline while guests share dishes such as Lempeng with Sambal Bilis, Thai Beef Salad and Pandan Financiers, before a relaxed sail back under the stars.
Full-day and sunset charters start from MYR 8,800 (around £1,600). For details and reservations, visit ritzcarlton.com/Langkawi, and follow the resort on Instagram and Facebook for updates.
