Meta Bright Unit Wins RM15.5 Million Supply Deal For Sabah Ore Terminal Project

Meta Bright Group Bhd has secured a RM15.51 million materials supply contract through its 70%-owned subsidiary, Expogaya Sdn Bhd, strengthening its foothold in Sabah’s growing industrial and infrastructure segment.

The contract, awarded by China Communications Construction Company Ltd’s (CCCC) wholly owned China Communications Construction Company (M) Sdn Bhd, will see Expogaya’s wholly-owned unit Jesselton Concrete Sdn Bhd appointed as the priority supplier of ready-mixed concrete for the ESTEEL Ore Terminal Project in Sabah.

Under the agreement, Jesselton Concrete will supply various grades of ready-mixed concrete and manage delivered duty paid logistics, assuming full freight and transportation risk to the project site.

To meet tight construction timelines, the group will also provide night and 24-hour delivery services upon request.

Notably, the contract carries favourable commercial terms. The customer is required to make 100% upfront payment for each order, materially reducing credit risk exposure for Meta Bright.

Executive Director of Corporate and Strategic Planning Derek Phang Kiew Lim described the mandate as a strong endorsement of the group’s operational strength in East Malaysia.

“Winning a supply mandate from a contractor of CCCC’s calibre is a meaningful validation of our operational capabilities in Sabah. This is a customer that demands absolute reliability — priority allocation, round-the-clock delivery and zero tolerance for supply disruption,” he said.

He added that being selected as the designated priority supplier underscores the depth of Jesselton Concrete’s batching plant network and its ability to execute under demanding timelines.
