Bursa Malaysia Rebounds At Midday As Buying Returns

Bursa Malaysia rebounded at midday on March 5, with the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rising 11.21 points as buying interest returned across key heavyweights and broader market indices.

At 12:30pm, the FBM KLCI stood at 1,709.43, up 0.66% from the morning session. Other indices also traded higher, with the FBM EMAS climbing 65.56 points to 12,500.03 and the FBM ACE edging up 4.71 points to 4,510.53.

The broader market was positive, with 523 gainers outpacing 431 losers, while 476 counters were unchanged. Market activity remained active with turnover reaching 1.45 billion shares valued at RM1.33 billion.

On the gainers’ list, Nestlé (M) Bhd advanced RM1 to RM108, while Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd added 60 sen to RM31.10 and Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd climbed 27 sen to RM7.67.

On the downside, Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd fell 38 sen to RM20.88, while Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd slipped 28 sen to RM33.62 and IOI Properties Group Bhd eased 11 sen to RM3.29.

Overall sentiment improved through the morning session as investors rotated into selected heavyweights and active counters, lifting the broader market into positive territory by midday.
