PARKROYAL COLLECTION Kuala Lumpur, Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur, PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur, PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort and PARKROYAL Penang Resort have been certified under the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Hotel Multi-site Certification following an independent audit by Control Union Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
The certification sets a global benchmark for sustainability in travel and tourism, covering effective planning, maximising local social and economic benefits, safeguarding cultural heritage, and minimising environmental impact.
“This GSTC Hotel Multi-site Certification is a significant milestone for our Malaysia properties. It reflects the dedication and shared commitment of our teams across all five properties to operate responsibly, reduce our environmental footprint, and create positive impact for the communities we serve, while delivering meaningful and sustainable guest experiences,” said Allan Wong, Country General Manager, Malaysia.
Randy Durband, CEO of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, added, “Achieving GSTC Certification through an Accredited Certification Body demonstrates a clear commitment to responsible tourism, advancing sustainability across the hospitality sector.”
The certification recognises each property’s tailored sustainability efforts.
In Kuala Lumpur, the PARKROYAL COLLECTION and Pan Pacific Serviced Suites share integrated sustainability infrastructure, including a biophilic design with 13,000 square feet of greenery, an Urban Farm cultivating over 60 varieties of produce, in-room filtered drinking water, refillable bottles, and energy-efficient systems.
In Langkawi, the resort has eliminated single-use plastic bottles through an in-house water bottling plant and promotes mindful consumption with opt-out linen programmes.
PARKROYAL Penang Resort focuses on coastal environmental protection, solar-powered lighting, sustainable irrigation, recycling initiatives, and cultural heritage support through performances and traditional attire.
The PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur prioritises energy and water efficiency with LED lighting, inverter air-conditioning, keycard energy controls and water-saving fixtures.
The GSTC certification marks a key step in PARKROYAL’s ongoing efforts to enhance sustainability across its Malaysian properties.
