Govt Maintains BUDI Diesel Aid At RM300, 340,000 To Benefit

The government will maintain the BUDI Diesel assistance at RM300 per month for April 2026 amid rising global fuel prices.

The Ministry of Finance (MOF) said the additional interim RM100 support will continue, keeping total aid for BUDI Individual and BUDI Agri-Commodity recipients at RM300.

Payments will be disbursed from April 8, benefiting about 340,000 recipients with an allocation of around RM102 million.

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the move aims to ease cost pressures on diesel users, particularly individuals and the agri-commodity sector.

Since its introduction in May 2024, the programme has disbursed RM1.12 billion in cash assistance under a targeted subsidy approach.

The government is reviewing medium- and long-term measures to ensure the subsidy system remains sustainable and transparent.

MOF will continue to monitor global energy market developments and stand ready to act to ensure supply stability.

Enforcement will also be tightened to curb leakages and ensure subsidies reach targeted groups.
