U Mobile Rolls Out New Ultra 5G Plans To Capture Enterprise, Consumer Demand

U Mobile has unveiled a new suite of offerings under its Ultra 5G lineup, targeting both consumers and enterprises as it seeks to strengthen its position in Malaysia’s fast-growing 5G segment.

Launched at an event in Kuala Lumpur, the telco’s latest plans are designed to address gaps in the market by tackling key pain points across prepaid, postpaid and enterprise segments.

Among the standout features are Priority Pass, built-in intelligent security, and ULTRA5G Reserve — reflecting U Mobile’s push to deliver differentiated solutions aligned with evolving digital lifestyles and business needs.

Speaking at the launch, Navin Manian said demand for high-speed connectivity and larger data capacity continues to rise as consumers rely more heavily on digital services.

“Consumers care about speed and data more than ever before. Connectivity is also the backbone of modern travel, especially in high-density locations such as stadiums, transport hubs and commercial areas,” he said.

He added that growing cybersecurity concerns have made security a critical component of mobile services, with the new plans aiming to set a higher benchmark by offering enhanced speed, data, reliability and protection.

At the same time, the group introduced its revamped enterprise solutions, branded as ULTRA Business plans. How Lih Ren said the offering is built around three core pillars: network priority, seamless connectivity across locations, and stronger security at the network level.

“With cyberattacks causing billions in losses globally and more than 60% of SMEs lacking even basic protection, businesses need more robust and reliable connectivity solutions,” he said.

As part of the rollout, U Mobile also highlighted the expansion of its fibre network to over 350,000 sites nationwide, aimed at ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for enterprise customers.

A key highlight of the launch was ULTRA5G Reserve, described as the industry’s first dedicated network priority feature. The solution enables enterprise users’ data traffic to be prioritised over regular network usage, delivering up to four times better performance. Devices connected to the service will also display a distinct “ULTRA5G RESERVE” network identifier.
