Awantec Systems Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of AwanBiru Technology Bhd, has been named the 2026 Google Cloud Public Sector Partner of the Year for the Asia Pacific region, recognising its role in supporting digital transformation within the public sector.
The award highlights Awantec’s work in helping organisations adopt cloud technologies to improve governance, scalability and data-driven decision making, particularly across government-linked projects. The company has been involved in accelerating digital adoption while ensuring secure cloud implementation for public sector clients.
Awantec has also strengthened its position in Malaysia’s digital ecosystem through the extension of its role as Managed Service Provider for Google Cloud to the Malaysian Government under the Cloud Framework Agreement. The continuation reflects ongoing efforts to support national digitalisation initiatives and cloud infrastructure development.
The company said it is expanding its capabilities across artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and cloud managed services, supported by workforce upskilling efforts. It noted that 54 employees recently obtained professional certifications in Google Cloud, Workspace, artificial intelligence and Chrome technologies as part of its broader push to deepen technical expertise.
