Pos Malaysia Berhad has announced the appointment of Datuk Shazril Imri bin Mokhtar and Datuk Abdul Halim bin Hamzah as Non-Independent Non-Executive Directors, alongside Encik Mano A/L Verabathran as Alternate Director to Datuk Abdul Halim bin Hamzah, effective 1 May 2026.
Datuk Shazril Imri bin Mokhtar brings over 28 years of experience in telecommunications, strategy and business transformation, with a strong track record in leading large-scale organisational change and profit-and-loss businesses. He previously served as Managing Director/Group Chief Executive Officer of Telekom Malaysia Berhad, where he led the company’s transformation agenda, driving financial performance, organisational agility and customer-centric initiatives. He also held key leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President of unifi, and senior positions across strategy and performance management.
Datuk Abdul Halim bin Hamzah brings three decades of distinguished public sector experience, with deep expertise in governance, policy and national-level administration. He is currently the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Communications, a role he assumed on 24 November 2025. Prior to this, he served as Director-General of the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) and Deputy Secretary-General (Finance and Development) at the Prime Minister’s Department. His extensive experience across government institutions strengthens the Board’s perspective in regulatory alignment, national priorities and stakeholder engagement.
Encik Mano A/L Verabathran, who returns as Alternate Director, brings over 30 years of civil service experience, with strong expertise in telecommunications infrastructure, intergovernmental coordination and strategic policymaking. He currently serves as Deputy Secretary-General (Telecommunications Infrastructure) at the Ministry of Communications. His previous roles include Undersecretary of the International Division, Deputy Director-General at the Prime Minister’s Department, and Deputy Undersecretary at the Ministry of Transport. His appointment provides continuity and institutional insight, having previously served on the Pos Malaysia Board.
