Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) has generated RM126.42 million in sales leads and potential export opportunities through an international sourcing programme held in conjunction with SEMICON Southeast Asia 2026.
The initiative brought together 14 international buyers from 12 economies with Malaysian electrical and electronics companies, strengthening business linkages across the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing sectors.
MATRADE said 49 Malaysian companies took part in 105 pre-arranged business meetings conducted both physically and virtually with buyers from Austria, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkiye, the US and Vietnam.
The participating buyers included integrated device manufacturers, outsourced semiconductor assembly and test providers, aerospace firms and renewable energy developers seeking precision components, factory automation solutions, printed circuit board assemblies, automated test equipment, system integration services and cleanroom products.
Chief Executive Officer Abu Bakar Yusof said MATRADE has organised the international sourcing programme alongside SEMICON Southeast Asia for the past 10 years, connecting Malaysian SMEs with global buyers and generating close to RM1 billion in export sales.
He said initiatives such as the programme continue to provide Malaysian companies with strategic platforms to expand their international market reach.
